Act one: the commercial case

Neon Frame Creative is a UK creative media studio that builds identity, film and content for law firms: strategy, imagery, film, design, web and social under one roof.

Referrals still open the door. The website decides if they walk through it.

The recommendation happens over lunch; the verification happens that evening, on your site. A referred client arrives half-convinced and looking for a reason to be sure, and finds either a firm that presents like its fees, or a template with a skyline photo and the word "excellence". In a sector where everyone claims the same three values, presentation is the only claim that gets tested before the first meeting.

Every firm says trusted, leading and client-focused. So nobody hears it.

Legal marketing has a sameness problem: navy palettes, handshake stock, biographies written in the third-person passive. That sameness is an opening. The firm that shows its actual people, explains the law in plain language and looks like it was designed this decade does not need to out-argue its competitors. It just needs to be the one a client can tell apart at 9pm on a phone.

Lateral hires read the brand as a balance sheet.

Growth in legal services is a talent contest, and candidates conduct due diligence like the lawyers they are. A dated brand reads as a firm that under-invests; partners bringing a following will not attach their names to it. The identity that wins clients is the same one that wins the hire, and the hire brings the clients.

A firm is judged on the evidence it presents about itself. Control the evidence.

Act two: why Neon Frame

Six disciplines, read through how legal work is actually won: referral, verification, first meeting, retention.

Firm and practice positioning

What the firm is for, which work it wants more of, and how each practice area says so without the word "solutions". Message architecture that partners will actually use, agreed before design begins.

Partner and client-story films

Partner profile films that let a client meet the lawyer before the clock starts, plain-language explainers for the questions your fee earners answer weekly, and client-story films built around outcomes with confidentiality handled properly from the release form up.

Imagery: people, place and practice

Portrait sessions that make forty lawyers look like one firm rather than forty LinkedIn profiles, office and working stills that replace the handshake stock, and a library your marketing team can draw on for a year of pitches and posts.

Identity, pitch and report design

An identity that holds from the brass plaque to the pitch deck, tender and proposal templates that stop every pitch being rebuilt from scratch, and the annual review designed to be read rather than filed.

Web that passes the 9pm test

A fast, credible site organised around client problems rather than your org chart, practice pages that answer the question before asking for the enquiry, and profiles that present fee earners as people someone might want in their corner.

Visible expertise, weekly

A sustainable thought-leadership rhythm on the channels clients and candidates actually use, insight content cut from one filming session into a quarter of posts, and reporting that ties visibility to enquiries rather than likes.

Glow, Beam, Halo

Most firms start at Glow, the portrait and film session that fixes the first impression, then move to Beam for a repositioning, and Halo where one identity and a monthly session keep every practice area supplied.

Legal services: straight answers

Asked and answered

How much does law firm branding cost in the UK?
The two things that move it are how many fee earners need to be on camera and how many practice areas the identity has to serve. A portrait and film session for one team is the smallest useful job; a full repositioning across every practice area is the largest. We quote the scope, not a day rate.
Can you film client stories without breaching confidentiality?
Yes. We build the release and approval process into production rather than bolting it on afterwards. Where a client cannot appear, the story still works: the outcome is told by the partner who ran it, with identifying detail removed at script stage and signed off before the edit is locked.
How do you photograph forty lawyers so they look like one firm?
One lighting setup, one background specification and one direction brief, applied across as many sessions as it takes. Fee earners who join later are shot to the same recipe, so the profile grid stays consistent for years rather than drifting into forty different photographs.
What does a creative agency retainer include for a law firm?
Our Halo tier covers strategy, one filming or photography session a month, design across your pitch and report templates, and channel management with reporting. It exists so marketing stops commissioning each asset separately: one system, supplied continuously, priced against the size of the firm.
